In the penultimate episode of PastMaster Season 2 the team joins the crew of the ill-fated Mary Celeste on its final voyage.

AI in the news
A make-up artist lost her job after an AI programme marked her down for her poor body language.
Software is being used increasingly in interviews to analyse and grade candidates, seemingly based on their facial responses, posture and gestures - as many as 41% of companies do this now apparently according to the source.
Slightly unnerving to think your next job interview might be watched over by an AI, spying on you like a predatory digital snake. I guess in my next interview I’ll be sitting up extra straight, trying to look confident and maintaining eye contact like a psychopath.
Deep Arnold
One of the unsettling manifestations of AI that this blog has touched on a few times is the deep fake.
A recent Instagram post by voice artist Sam Hughes imagined a critical scene in The Lord of the Rings in which all the main roles are played by Arnold Schwarzenegger.
In my view the former governor of California’s Austrian drawl and trademark weird moaning noises add a theatrical, I would venture almost Brechtian, quality to the film that was missing from the Peter Jackson epic.
