AI in the news

It’s a truism that no-one really knows what AI programmes are doing when they do things.

But according to Wired, AI researcher Chris Olah is leading a team that attempts to reverse engineer what AI does in order to understand it. They’re on the path to success, apparently.

It’s still baffling to me that humans have made this technology and have no idea how it works. In Mr Olah’s words: “We have these systems. We don't know what's going on. It seems crazy.”

We’re delighted to be taking part in the Gladiator episode of history film podcast Fetch the Smelling Salts (FTSS).

Slated for 20 June, the episode will see Keon and Tan join FTSS hosts Alice Nagle and Kim Marsh for a discussion of the Ridley Scott epic, including awards for best decapitation, most grotesque villainy and best use of a wig.
